    LOST PILOT - MMMM

“Whilst there’s a burgeoning scene in the city these days for the folkier, more acoustic side to things, there’s a growing band of musicians who come from the distant hills . One such animal is the aptly named My Side Of The Mountain. Travelling from the rolling peaks of Derbyshire their sound is filled with bustling, swinging guitars, picking banjos, electric organs and mellow tones. “Lost Pilot” is a sleepy, almost restrained but no less exciting combination of well executed melodies combind with the careful looping of infectious phrases.

“The Toymaker” starts from an even more sombre perspective until the sound of a pipe organ chirrups through, pulling with it a squelching beat and a slow motion vocal delivery.

“Winter People” is a song for the season – the hum of its slightly droning tones, lo-fi drum strikes, the sparkle of guitars and keyboards all merge to provide the impression that this was recorded in a warm cottage whilst snow fell gently on the path outside.

My Side Of The Mountain, are tender and calming but with a bite that suggests making things too clear and refined would have almost ruined the whole plot. It’s a delicate balance and one they sustain with great aplomb..”

“My Side of the Mountain make noises that you'd expect from a group of kids discovering electronics and quavers for the first time, i.e. original, exciting and fun.”

“Kind of puts one in mind of a babbling brook, maybe with some cute little ducklings cheeping their way across our field of vision.”
